Commercial Ground Source Heat Pumps

Commercial Ground Source Heat Pumps

Attractive heating option…

…for those businesses with land available for heat extraction.

A Ground Source Heat Pump will provide your heating & hot water needs for the business. An alternative to an Air Source Heat Pump. However, this time instead of air, the sun’s heat is collected from the ground. As a result, ground source heat pumps are seen as the most efficient form of heat pump technology.

The Government’s Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will also guarantee your business a fixed payment every quarter for 20 years.

How it works

A ground source heat pump works by moving heat that’s collected from the ground via a circulating loop of glycol (antifreeze). This then passes through a compressor that raises it to a higher temperature, which can then heat water for the heating and hot water circuits of the property. The cooled ground-loop fluid passes back into the ground where it absorbs further energy from the ground in a continuous process as long as heating is required.
