The Problem

A project that hit the headlines, and made it onto Channel 4’s ‘How to be Mortgage Free’ with Sarah Beeny, the owner of this Raithby Hill home in Spilsby purchased land situated on a brownfield site with the idea of building a luxury 4-bedroom eco-lodge that sits in the footprint of a disused reservoir.

The Solution

UK Alternative Energy was pleased to be the company chosen to install an Air Source Heat Pump as well as the Underfloor Heating which continue to provide the heating and hot water for this property.

Looking at the project as a whole, and working in close collaboration with the local council, the owner engaged in a detailed planning process and over two years navigated the necessary approvals, refining the design to align with council requirements and ensuring compliance with all regulations. A process that no doubt required a lot of patience, the outcome resulted in the creation of a bespoke, mortgage-free home; a fantastic example of what can be achieved with a proactive, strategic and open mindset.
