Outstanding results from our Solar PV, Battery & ASHP installation

We recently had a full renewable energy system installed, including Solar PV, battery storage, and an air source heat pump, and the results have been outstanding.

Our home is now fully electric, and in our first full calendar year since installation, our electricity costs have dropped dramatically to just £60 per month — around £720 for the entire year. Considering rising energy prices, this has made a huge difference to our household budget.

The Problem

This residential renewable energy project in Welton was designed to help the homeowner reduce energy bills while improving the sustainability of the property. By combining several renewable technologies, the system provides both electricity generation and low-carbon heating.

With energy prices continuing to rise, the homeowners wanted to reduce reliance on traditional energy sources. They were looking for a system that could generate renewable electricity, store excess energy, and provide efficient heating for the home.

The Solution

We installed a 6.48 kW solar PV system using JA Solar panels and SolarEdge inverter technology, paired with a Tesla Powerwall battery providing 14 kWh of energy storage. The installation also included a 12 kW Samsung air source heat pump, delivering efficient renewable heating.

The completed system now generates and stores renewable electricity while providing low-carbon heating for the home. This significantly reduces reliance on grid energy and helps lower both energy costs and carbon emissions.

The Cost & Environmental Savings

In 2025, the customer generated 7,196 kWh from their Solar PV system. According to their Tesla app, this enabled them to be 60% self-powered and reduce their electricity costs to a direct debit of just £60 per month. This represents an excellent first full calendar year for a fully electric home, including heating.

Additionally, data from the Samsung controller shows that the air source heat pump operated for only 10.6% of the year, helping to keep running costs low while still maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature.
