The Problem

This residential project in Retford focused on improving energy independence for the homeowner while reducing reliance on grid electricity. With rising energy prices, the client wanted a renewable energy system that could both generate and store electricity for use throughout the day.

Although solar panels can generate significant electricity during daylight hours, much of that energy is often exported back to the grid if it is not used immediately. The homeowner wanted to maximise the value of solar generation by storing excess electricity for later use.

The Solution

We installed an 11.39 kW solar PV system using Q.Cells panels with SolarEdge technology. To further improve energy independence, the installation included two Tesla Powerwall 2 batteries providing 28 kWh of storage capacity. This allows excess solar energy produced during the day to be stored and used in the evening or during periods of high demand.

The Cost & Environmental Savings

The property now benefits from a highly efficient renewable energy system that generates and stores electricity on site. This significantly reduces reliance on grid energy while providing long-term protection from rising electricity costs.
