Reducing the business electric bill by around 60% pa.

Having previously worked with Dave Elton on his own property, he approached us to design a solar PV and battery system for his business at the Walled Garden, Baumber. Following a site survey and a review of his energy bills, we designed a 10.92 kWp PV system incorporating SolarEdge optimisers and a three-phase battery system.

The Problem

The Walled Garden in Baumber wanted to improve the energy efficiency of its commercial premises while reducing long-term electricity costs. With rising energy prices affecting many businesses, the company decided to explore renewable energy solutions that could generate electricity on site while improving sustainability.

Commercial buildings often rely heavily on electricity for lighting, equipment, and daily operations. Increasing energy costs meant the organisation was looking for a solution that could reduce reliance on grid electricity while providing greater control over energy usage.

The Solution

Our team designed and installed a 10.92 kW solar PV system using JA Solar panels with SolarEdge inverter technology. To further improve energy efficiency, the system was paired with four SolarEdge Home 48V batteries providing 18.4 kWh of energy storage, allowing excess solar energy to be stored for later use.

The installation now generates renewable electricity and stores excess solar energy for use during peak demand. This provides greater energy independence while reducing operating costs and lowering the building’s carbon emissions.

The Cost & Environmental Savings

Designing a SolarEdge Solar PV and battery system that helped reduce the business electric bill by around 60% pa.

  • 8,700 kWh Generated per Year
  • Self consumption of around 5,200 kWh pa from the generated solar
  • 1.8 tonnes of CO2 saving pa
