The Problem

King Ecgberts School in Sheffield wanted to improve the sustainability of its facilities while reducing long-term energy costs. As part of the school’s commitment to environmental responsibility, renewable energy was introduced to help generate electricity on site.

Educational facilities often require significant electricity for lighting, technology, and daily operations. Rising energy costs meant the school needed a solution that could reduce reliance on grid electricity while supporting sustainability initiatives.

The Solution

We designed and installed a 22.14 kW solar PV system using JA Solar panels and Solis inverter technology. The system was configured to maximise solar generation across the building’s roof space while integrating with the school’s existing electrical infrastructure.

The installation now generates renewable electricity for the school, helping offset energy consumption and reduce operational costs. It also supports the school’s environmental goals by lowering carbon emissions and promoting sustainability within the learning environment.
