The Problem

The Bridge building at the University of Lincoln is a key facility supporting research, development, and innovation activities. As part of the university’s sustainability strategy, renewable energy was introduced to help reduce energy consumption and environmental impact across the campus.

Research and development buildings often consume significant electricity due to equipment, laboratories, and daily operations. The university wanted to reduce reliance on grid electricity while supporting its long-term carbon reduction targets.

The Solution

We designed and installed a 19.76 kW solar PV system using JA Solar panels with Solis inverter technology. The system was installed to maximise solar generation from the building’s roof space while integrating smoothly with existing electrical infrastructure.

The solar installation now generates renewable electricity directly at the facility, helping offset energy usage and reduce operating costs. It also supports the University of Lincoln’s commitment to sustainable campus development.
