The Problem

Ermine Farms Ltd in Gainsborough operates a busy agricultural business where reliable and cost-effective energy is essential for daily operations. With electricity usage increasing due to equipment, facilities, and farm infrastructure, the organisation wanted to explore renewable energy solutions that could help manage long-term operating costs while supporting environmental sustainability.

Agricultural businesses often require significant electricity for machinery, lighting, storage facilities, and other operational systems. Rising energy prices meant electricity costs were becoming a growing concern. Ermine Farms Ltd wanted to reduce reliance on grid electricity while improving the sustainability of its premises and future-proofing the business against energy price volatility.

The Solution

Our team designed and installed a large-scale 99.96 kW solar PV system using Canadian Solar panels with Solis inverter technology. The system was carefully designed to maximise the available roof space and optimise solar generation throughout the day, ensuring the farm could generate renewable electricity during peak operational hours.

The installation now generates a substantial amount of renewable electricity on site. This helps offset the farm’s energy consumption, reduce operating costs, and lower carbon emissions while supporting the business’s long-term sustainability goals.
